Building Information Modeling
Bullock Tice Associates is your source of information and leadership with regards to Building Information Modeling (BIM). Over the past five years, BTA has been incorporating and implementing BIM capabilities into our project development and design methodology. All of BTA's new projects are created with BIM-enabled software and take advantage of advanced BIM features whenever applicable.
Our firm has two Autodesk Revit (one of the leading BIM software platforms) Certified Professionals in Revit Architecture 2009 and 2010 on staff. They are part of a select group of individuals nationally, and the only two professionals within a 300 hundred mile radius of Pensacola, Florida to achieve this level of certification.
Together, these two individuals reinforce and support our commitment to BIM implementation into our practice by continuously updating our comprehensive staff training curriculum to formally elevate and improve BIM comprehension and capabilities among the entire technical staff within the firm. Mandatory weekly training sessions geared to all levels of our staff, including project managers, are held to assure that Building Information Modeling capabilities are maintained and further developed into the daily production capability of the firm and our consultants. Our team also collaborates with contractors in their use of BIM during construction.
BTA has also invested in professional training for Bentley Architecture (another leading BIM software platform), Navisworks (overall project coordination), and Ecotect (analysis software for energy and performance studies).
A number of other design firms try to associate themselves with BIM, however they have not made the dedicated and concerted effort to develop this expertise. Instead they are "BIM Washing." In other words, they speak little 'bim,' but in reality, they are using outdated technology and/or methodology for a "semi-bim" solution. BTA's credentials are proof that our team is trained in the latest technology. Our team has developed best practices beyond the current demand from BIM models to anticipate the changing needs of our clients. BTA is well positioned to take advantage of technologies as they rapidly continue to evolve. For our clients, this means that unlike many other design firms, "we are not learning how to do BIM on their project."
