NASA Shared Services Center

NASA consolidated select business and technical services performed across the Agency into a single Shared Services Center at the Stennis Space Center, MS. This facility houses NASA's human resources, financial management, procurement and information technology services. Project phasing and timely construction completion was critical to the success of this project due to NASA staff being relocated from across the country.

The State of Mississippi Bureau of Building, Grounds and Real Property Management Design, as the Owner and funding agency for this project, established their goals and project requirements to incorporate sustainable design elements into this facility. USGBC LEED NC 2.2 was utilized as the assessment metric to measure reduction of impact to the environment, improvement of energy efficiency and water conservation, and design solutions that provide safe, healthy and productive built environments. The facility achieved LEED Silver Certification.

The Shared Services Center is one of 11 LEED certified projects in the State of Mississippi, and the second in the state to achieve a LEED certification level of Silver.
